POSTED ON FEBRUARY 23RD, 2012

Dr. Jacobo Mintzer recently appeared on Channel 2’s Medical Myths series to address the question of using a skin cancer drug, Targretin (Bexarotene) to reverse the symptoms of Alzheimer’s diesease.  A recent article published in the journal Science reported that the drug had been able to remove the abnormal plaque  in the brains of mice infected with Alzheimer’s and improve the memory of these mice.

Watch Dr. Mintzer’s interview with Carolyn Murray from Channel 2 to learn why Alzheimer’s patients and their families should not be attempting to access Targretin until it is tested and found safe and effective in humans.
